Leave in the wee hours of morning (after an early breakfast) to drive to Gangotri, 100 km from Uttarkashi. You will be driving through gorgeous mountainous roads with dense forests and waterfalls. Take a holy dip in the river, visit the Gangotri Temple and Ganga Goddess temple. In the evening return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

This morning, drive to Sonprayag (30 km) and from here make an 18 km trek to Kedarnath, one of the holiest temples of Lord Shiva.
