MEHRANGARH FORT
The Mehrangarh Fort looms, impossible to penetrate, straight from a hill 125 meters above Jodhpur’s skyline. And steeped in mythology and history, this ancient fort is as iconic as it gets in all of India. Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal and Sheesh Mahal are lined with thick and well-carved battlements, latticed windows and rich decorations.

UMAID BHAWAN PALACE
Umaid Bhawan Palace was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1929 as a response to the famine that devastated the state at that time. The building was also called the Chittar Palace, as stones from the Chittar hill were used in its construction. A renowned British architect designed the palace, which took 16 years to complete. GHANTA GHAR
The ghanta ghar, or clock tower, is situated in one of Jodhpur’s busiest neighborhoods. The tower was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh, after whom the nearby Sardar market is named. Sadar Market is a favorite for travelers seeking spices, traditional clothing, and decorative jewelry. The Clock Tower is one of the very famous landmarks in Jodhpur. The Blue City Heritage Walk starts and ends at the Tower.

MANDORE GARDEN
The stretch of things to see in Jodhpur city is located north of Mandore, the earlier capital of Marwar. The place has its own historical connection, as it has the deewals, or cenotaphs, of previous rulers of Jodhpur. These are built like Hindu temples, not the original umbrella-shaped cenotaphs that are specific to Rajasthani architecture. This enclosure also has a museum, temple, and art gallery. At night, a light-and-sound show in this garden gave visitors insight into the Marwari royal empire’s vigorous cultural heritage.

KAILANA LAKE
This is one of the best picnicking places in the city that is located on Jaisalmer Road and is a vast man-made lake. It looks like a lovely splash of color on a canvas. The lake’s beauty stays with you long after you’ve left. For anyone looking to take to the lake, boating and zip line facilities are also offered.
